The Youth Group Gathering for January is rescheduled due to weather and the MLK Holiday weekend sponsored by Mrs. Jaye Cunningham and Mr. Ian Cunningham.
Sunday, January 25, 2009. The Youth Group will meet in the Parish Hall from 6:30 – 8:00 PM for Game Night! Bring a friend. Snacks will be provided by the Cunningham’s.
The Youth Group met in December following the 9:30 AM intergenerational Christmas Pageant, many hands packed the food items for the Christmas offering to the docks and fisher-folk of the area. The entire youth group participated with other members of the parish and many hands made short work! Refreshments were provided, to include frost your own gingerbread cookies and other delicious Christmas treats. Mr. Ken Cahill and Rev. Mary helped organize this event.
The group list developed in September consists of these desired events for the year: 1) bowling, 2) creative project, 3) hay ride, 4) labyrinth, 5) laser tag, 6) manicures, 7) movie night at church, 8 ) movie at theatre, 9) Nightwatch, 10) paintball, 11) rock climbing 12) a drumming circle.
Parent(s) are to provide support in the following way:
* Parent(s) understand the covenant relationship between the church and the youth group and support its Christian principals.
* Parent(s) agree to sponsor a once a year event, provide refreshments, provide a meal, coordinate transportation and seek safe church trained chaperones as needed, from the centralized list in the church office.
* Parent(s) are encouraged to strive to be involved in the youth group and attend worship services as responsible members.
